Mmm… O Negative.

Another piece of card art in the same vein. Same emphases and similar style to the recent one I posted, but different subject matter.  Overall this was pretty straightforward. Just going off of the name of the card, I flirted with a couple different angles I could take on it before busting this version out. All in all, took about an hour. I like it. He’s smiley.

Moar Card Art!

Cardmaster Conflict is doing another round of expansions, which is always a good time for me because I take is as an opportunity to do a little experimentation with styles. The only caveat is that as a online TCG, the final exported image is something like an eighth the size I like to work in, so it’s a bit of an encouragement to work in broad strokes and focus on spot detail. This is a larger version of one I put together recently.

Ch-ch-ch-changes…

Just a quick update, I’m currently in the process of moving my website over to a new hosting service, so things may get a little wonky here on the blog for the next couple days. Rest assured, I’ll get it sorted.

Monster Control

These are some character sketches for a project I worked on for 24 Hour Comics Day this year. I wound up not finishing the comic that day, but I’m using that as an excuse to treat the pages I’ve done as rough compositions so I can keep working on this in my spare time to make it as good looking as I possibly can.

More to Look At

Hello once again! Let me just introduce these sketches real quick. These were originally created as site icons to be used at a much smaller scale. So rather than focusing on specific detail, it made much more sense here to work with flat, muted colors and strong silhouettes that could be read from a distance. Ultimately these wound up being unused, but I still have a lot of love for them on their own merits.

The Raggedy Doctor

I have so much love for Doctor Who, you guys don’t even know… or maybe you do know if you follow me on Twitter. This piece spawned from a loose sketch that I had from watching Matt Smith’s premiere performance as the good Doctor. Over the course of putting this together I kept trying to add more detail to the Tardis figure, but ultimately it served the piece better to leave it in the realm of symbols. It’s also safe to say that I had quite a bit of fun with the colouring here.

Cheers,

Talon

M’Archive

Hey all! I’ve been skimming through my backlog of work while trying to put something together this week and I ended up stumbling on a few forgotten artifacts I thought I’d go to the trouble of putting up online. I’ll likely put up a couple every now and then, but you’ll know when it happens. Now, in the interest of discretion I’d like to say as little as possible because these are from projects that didn’t quite pan out for the time being but I may as of yet be coming back to them at some point. What I will say about these specifically is that they’re chocolate truffle guys and they are awesome.
